New Covers and Release Date for The Blind Date!
Good morning! I did my first cover reveal of the Love Unexpected series on Facebook, and now I’m sharing the new covers with all of you. I’m really pleased with the result and feel the artist captured the essence of both books.
September 20, 2013 is the release date for The Blind Date as a book (give or take a couple of days). Aside from describing Ryan’s friend, Tomas Molina, in more detail and making minor changes here and there, I decided to leave the story of Ryan and Shawna intact. I’m excited about releasing the story and hope it’s as well-received by the general public as it was by those of you who followed along on my blog. Again, thanks for all the feedback as the story unfolded. It helped me tweak it each week as chapters were revealed.
I’m going to place The Blind Date in Amazon’s KDP Select program. It’s an experiment to reach out to their Prime readers. The drawback is that it will only be available on Amazon for the first 90 days. But I really want my biggest cheerleaders – you – to get a copy when it drops, so I have an idea. More details to come soon.
The Wrong Man is Tomas’s story. His romantic interest is Talia Jackson, a friend of Shawna’s. He works construction and she’s an ad executive. At first they don’t like each other, but that changes…um, drastically. As the tagline suggests, they have nothing in common, but they just can’t stay away from each other. I’m still working on this one, but I’m on my editor’s schedule and it should be released mid-November.
I’ve had a couple of inquiries about when the first three books of the Hot Latin Men series will be back online since my publisher gave me back my rights. I’m happy to report all the books are available again at the usual retailers! Fight for Love has a new cover, but the other two were recreated to match the original ones as closely as possible.
My manuscript to Harlequin is due this week, so I’ll be plugging away on that, but it’s coming along after some stops and starts along the way. The book will be released next summer as part of an anthology with Donna Hill and Grace Octavia.
I’m getting lots of ideas for my African-American series about the Johnson family that owns a brewery in Seattle. So many ideas that the stories are at war over which one will be written first. Cyrus, Trenton, Ivy? Lol. Lucky me. Hopefully that means I won’t have problems with writer’s block once I start. (*fingers crossed*) Since they own a brewery, I’ve got to get my preliminary work done, so I’m doing a tour of a local brewery this fall. I’m looking forward to it. If they allow us to take pictures, I’ll share some with you.
Before I go, I have to tell you I’ve found some really good songs to listen to while writing lately. One of them is You Belong to Me by Trey Songz. The second is Lazy Love by Ne-yo. I’m a fan of Ne-yo’s music, and I’m surprised this song wasn’t more popular. I’m glad I discovered it on Pandora. Check out the video below, but be careful. It’s just as sexy as the song. Make sure you have protection before watching this because you might get pregnant. You’ve been warned.
P.S. Leave suggestions for songs I could add to my playlist. Sexy songs, love songs, slow jams are what I’m looking for. Examples of artists whose music I listen to: Ryan Leslie, Chrisette Michelle, Christina Perri, Elliott Yamin, Usher – you get the idea.
Have a great week!
